Young jockey Patrick Ferris remains in critical condition in a Newcastle hospital with head injuries suffered in a race fall at Muswellbrook on Monday.
Ferris was airlifted to Newcastle's John Hunter Hospital from Singleton on Monday afternoon.
He was placed in an induced coma and was on life support after surgery to release pressure from bleeding on his brain.
His wife Jenna gave birth to their son Jacob only six weeks ago.
Ferris only resumed riding last week after recovering from another fall where he suffered broken ribs, a punctured lung and dislocated collarbone.
He was injured on Monday when his mount Neigh Then dislodged him in the second race.
He was galloped on by other runners after he hit the turf.
