Randwick trainer Grahame Begg will join the exodus of Sydney trainers with their star gallopers during the upcoming spring carnival.
Begg has indicated his multiple Group I winning galloper All Silent will campaign exclusively in Melbourne during his upcoming campaign while stablemate Palacio De Cristal will only have one run in Sydney before heading south.
“Carnival time is the time to make money, it sets you up for the year,” Begg said. “Melbourne is where the money is and the races are during the spring.”
All Silent hasn't started since finishing unplaced in Dubai earlier this year.
He will resume in the Group I Manikato Stakes (1200m) at Moonee Valley in September while Palacio De Cristal will contest the Bill Ritchie Handicap (1400m) at Randwick before transferring to Melbourne.
All Silent and Palacio De Cristal join the likes of the Bart Cummings-trained So You Think, Faint Perfume, Dariana and the John O’Shea-trained Zabrasive while his stablemate Jessicabeel will only have two Sydney starts before her Melbourne campaign commences.
Star mare Melito is another that will be race exclusively in Melbourne.
