The Racing NSW board and CEO Peter V’landys are facing a vote of no confidence by NSW trainers.

The members of the NSW Trainers Association met on Monday night and it is believed all constitutes attending the meeting, except one, voted against the current administration governing racing in NSW.

“I just left the trainers meeting with Racing NSW and I assure you we are a disgruntled lot,” Hall of Fame trainer and NSWTA board member Gai Waterhouse said on her website.

“Prizemoney is not going up, there is no one willing to listen to our plight, and we are treated with disdain and intolerance.

“Us trainers are fed up.”

Members of the Australian Workers Union also attended the meeting to advise trainers they can be called upon if needed to aid their attempts for satisfactory resolution to their concerns.

Recently elected chairman of the NSWTA John Rouse spoke with Racing NSW chairman Alan Brown on Tuesday morning to discuss his members’ revolt against the Racing NSW rule makers.

As at March 2010, the NSWTA has 870 members, or equivalent to about 75 percent of NSW licensed trainers.

Waterhouse also went onto say that the trainers are pushing their cause to also aid and benefit “owners and jockeys”.

"We represent the owners as they are the lynch pin,” she said. “People who invest in horses need to be looked after thus we are not just speaking on our own accord.

“We are pushing the cause of the owners, the stable staff and in many cases the jockeys”.

But, the Australian Jockeys Association and NSW Racehorse Owners Association disagree along with country and provincial race clubs.
