Top young trainer Paul Messara is planning to open a satellite stable at the Sunshine Coast and he's employed a Group I-winning trainer to run the operation.
Messara told AAP that Albert The Fat’s trainer Eden Petrie will be in charge of the Sunshine Coast satellite stable.
Paul Messara is expanding his training operations with plans to open a satellite stable under the care of trainer Eden Petrie at Caloundra.
"There's some good opportunities in Queensland," Messara said.
"I've travelled a lot of horses to Queensland but it's a big job and very cumbersome."
Albert The Fat will be transferred to Messara ahead of his upcoming spring campaign in Melbourne and the new Queensland operation will have a team of about 14 horses in work.
Petrie said he’s “looking forward to the challenge” of setting up a new stable and working closely with Messara.
"I see it as a great opportunity to join Paul and Arrowfield," Petrie said.
"The overheads in this game kill you and there's a lot more security involved by moving to Paul."
