The immediate racing future of More Strawberries is undecided following her barrier trial at Warwick Farm Tuesday morning.
The Golden Slipper placegetter had her second barrier trial of her campaign, finishing third, in the opening heat behind Khemosabi and Joku over 1200m, pleasing the Gai Waterhouse camp.
“She jumped well, which was the main part of the trial, she was against older horses and Gai was very happy,” Duncan Grimley, racing manager for owner John Singleton, told Sky Sports Radio.
Despite the pleasing effort, no plans have been finalised for possibly Australia’s best maiden.
“We’ll sit down towards the end of the week and work out if she goes to the Golden Rose,” Grimley said.
“If she does, she will probably go through the Run To The Rose, if not she’ll run the week before (the Golden Rose) in the first leg of the Princess Series (Silver Shadow Stakes, August 21).
“Gai’s got about half a dozen heading towards the Golden Rose, so she’s got to work out the pecking order as they stand as well.”
